We couldn’t be more grateful and excited to announce that Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation committed to take over 15 annual memberships and allows us to give them to female artists from South Asia, Africa and Berlin connecting them to an international audience.
Durjoy Bangladesh Foundation (DBF) is established to support the ambitions of artists and art practitioners, who see the world differently and who generate a new way of shaping our world and our future.
Established in 2018, one of the missions is to support art and artists of South Asia and beyond.
Since the lockdown hit, the Dhaka and Berlin based foundation established two dovetailing initiatives to help local artists stay afloat. One is “Bhumi,” a collaboration with the Gidree Bawlee Foundation of Arts that aims to support rural creative communities that make art, crafts, and even, in some cases, land art. Another program, called “Future of Hope,” sked nine artists to create work in response to current global challenges.
Also in the past, Durjoy Bangladesh kicked off numerous exhibitions and projects, among them the Mahji International Art Residency Program in Berlin, tor the “Homelands” exhibition in collaboration with the university of Cambridge are just some examples of how collector Durjoy Rahman support creatives and connects them internationally.
Together, we can make the art world a happy place.
