About “Bangladesh – different perspectives”

We often see other countries through our own European lenses. Our perception of Bangladesh and its people is characterized by negative news and images–mostly in the context of business, politics and the environment. Is this the only reality? What images are there apart from stereotypes? And how do photographers from Bangladesh see their homeland? The country in South Asia offers a variety of natural landscapes, thousands of rivers and vital cities. It is home to a different of cultures and beliefs with Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Animistic and Christian festivals. There are social conflicts in Bangladesh as well as a great competence of the people living together in a confined space.
